We’re excited to announce to our clients in APAC a focused week to strengthen your advanced financial modelling techniques. With four stand-alone digital modelling workshops, you can mix and match to fill gaps in your skill set. 

These 3-hour sessions are tailored to enhance your understanding of key financial structuring concepts and their practical applications in financial  models / transactions

Session 1:  Master financial modelling of shareholder loans and cash sweeps
2 February, 3 hours

  • Expand your modelling toolkit with shareholder loans during the construction phase and learn how to update financial statements and calculations for project and equity returns
  • Explore cash sweep calculation to forecast interest and principal repayment to give you the ability to fully evaluate downside scenarios for credit
  • Learn about topics around shareholder loans, including withholding tax, thin capitalisation rules, and structures to avoid trapped cash

Session 3: Manage multiple currencies with robust FX modelling
4 February, 3 hours

  • Understand how to manage cashflows in different currencies, like construction, revenue, and debt with dynamic financial modelling techniques
  • Learn how to update the financial model to consider foreign exchange for both construction spend and drawn debt, with relevant flow on impact to financial statements
  • Develop an understanding relating to the impact of periodic movements in exchange rates to the balance sheet through the translation reserve account

 

 

 

 

 

Session 2: Expand debt modelling with Mezzanine and Subordinated loans
3 February, 3 hours

  • For a full toolbox in debt modelling, you need to master mezzanine and subordinated loans, and the associated flow on impact to financial statements and returns calculations
  • Learn how to analyse credit ratios with both sculpted and cash sweep repayment
  •  Explore how and when subordinated facilities may be required and how to add multiple tranches to reflect varying levels of repayment priorities

Session 4: Analyse annual dividend calculations in a monthly / quarterly model
5 February, 3 hours

  • Learn how to analyse and structure annual metrics, in a monthly or quarterly model
  • Applications demonstrated for trailing and forward looking DSCR, in addition to the Debt to EBITDA ratio
  • Examples of how to structure the model for annual release of cash to equity based on (annual) terms
  • Discussion around net asset test as an additional sizing mechanism to calculate cash distributions
